What being a Lemongrass Spa consultant REALLY means

I don’t always get asked outright “what does it mean to be a Lemongrass Spa consultant?” but I can always sense the curiosity. (If you’re a direct sales consultant I’m sure you get it. If you’re not, I’m sure you’ve thought this while scrolling through social media and seeing your DS friends’ posts.)

Instead of buying nontoxic beauty products off the shelves of Target (spoiler: There aren’t any) they can be purchased through a consultant like myself. This is called a direct sales model because no wholesaler is involved.

Here’s what Lemongrass Spa is NOT:

• A pyramid scheme
• Taking someone into buying something they don’t need
• Just for extroverts

The brand I buy from (and represent) matters. Toxin free, sustainable, minimal and financial freedom/debt free are priorities in my life. Lemongrass Spa takes sustainable steps such as using glass when possible and printing catalogs with vegetable ink. All ingredients are transparent and plant-based. The compensation plan is so generous that anyone who is passionate and dedicated can make extra money.

What it means to be a Lemongrass consultant:

• I bought products (not just paid a fee) that gave me consultant status.
• I make a commission on each sale. (This is no different than shopping at Target or an influencer’s swipe up. Someone is always making a cut of your purchase. Direct sales let’s it be an individual.)
• I get to share the same business opportunity that was offered to me. When someone joins my team, I show them the ropes.
• I consult with women to help them find the best nontoxic skincare, makeup and haircare for them and their budget.

Being a consultant means I can work from anywhere (feeding baby girl, on the road, or in the coffee shop). It means I make an extra income that gives us extra flexibility. It means I even get a discount on my favorite products too.

My paycheck from Lemongrass Spa means I graduated college with no student loans. To this day, me and my husband have no debt because we pay cash for everything. That doesn’t mean money never stresses me out but it does mean that our life choices are directed by debt.

If nothing else, I’m here to break down the myth that enjoying beauty products and keeping it affordable can coexist. 😉

Direct sales done right gives financial freedom and a creative outlet to anyone who believes in a brand enough to represent it to their friends, family and customers. That’s what Lemongrass Spa is to me – and can be to anyone.
